Hello everyone, I'm a native German speaker and a language freak. I've been working on my English intensively for about 3 years now (my English education at school was poor, since I grew up in the former GDR, the eastern part of the formerly devided country). Meanwhile, I think, it has improved a lot and I feel quite confident with it. But I'm still a learner, who makes mistakes. The grammar is not my best friend yet, because I only learned the most things by doing. Although the pronunciation of new words very often succeeds instinctively, that doesn't always work. I'd love to assist others with German in a conversational way to not get worse again and improve. I'm a huge fan of the Irish accents that are spoken more in the south of Ireland and around Dublin, but my own English is, I guess, a wild mix of everything from everywhere. I see English as a lingua franca, as kind of my door to the world, to other cultures. I love playing with language and language(s) and also like poetry, but don't know much of poetry in English yet. Besides language, my interests are manifold. I do some sports, I love nature. And I started learning to play the bodhrán. So, I think, there will always be a topic to talk about. Ich bin gerne auf dem Weg eine neue Sprache zu erlernen ! Das mit dem Afrikaans kommt aus meiner Leidenschaft zu Holland, klingt komisch, ist aber so. Aber auch die vielen Jahre im südlichen Afrika ! Und die ukrainische Sprache. Schwer zu erlernen, denn ich kann die Buchstaben nicht umsetzen und so diese Sprache erlernen. Doch der Wunsch in der Ukraine teilweise zu Leben steht schon lange fest. Und dazu möchte ich diese Sprache sprechen und verstehen können ! Hobbys, klar sind vorhanden, Lese viel, alles am und auf dem Wasser liegt mir sehr am Herzen. Ausserdem ist Kultur mir wichtig, so findet man mich in der Oper, Theater oder anderen kulturellen Veranstaltungen. はじめまして！ Hi, I'm Samuel from Salzburg, Austria. As I'm interested in Japan (Anime, history, culture, etc.), I started studying the Japanese on my own last year. I've been to Japan in April and I plan to go again in November (Tokyo). I would like to improve my language skills as much as possible. Since I have very irregular working hours, I'm quite flexible in regard of finding time to talk. My native language is German, but my English is also on a good level (C2). Hi my name is Tobias (I'm also open to learn languages I didn’t mention because I love to learn languages & to get to know different cultures), I am from Germany & I study in Iran...Persian history and the history of the region...for example the history of West & Central Asia... But originally I'm fromthe tri-border region of Germany, France and Luxembourg (called Greater region of SaarLorLux or also Greater Luxembourg) We have several villages there which are divided between Germany & France in really strange ways! I am interested in all cultures, countries, continents & people, very open minded traveled to a lot of European & West and Central Asian countries, but I am interested in getting to know more cultures, people, countries, continents (especially East Asian & African countries but also all other countries) & people...cultural, social background, age & so on does not matter... I learned English and French in my school in Germany but forgot most of my French when I learned Arabic in West Asian countries which I learned mostly in Damascus, Syria...& my Arabic got a bit weak when I learned Persian in Iran...before I came to Iran, I even dreamed in Arabic. People talked to me in Arabic & I spoke in Arabic to people in my dreams, but since I came to Iran I did not have any Arabic dream any more...I still able to understand most classic Arabic but I cannot speak such fluently any more as before...but I am sure I will learn & improve my French & Arabic very fast if I would have people to practice with... My hobbies are meeting friends, drawing, photography, swimming, walking, jogging, riding my bike & martial arts/fighting sports, mountaineering/hiking/hill walking According to drawing and photography I am still learning, training & I still visit courses! By the way I also take private classes in stock trading & Photoshop... I would like to learn a lot of languages as you can see...I just hope that I don’t forget the languages I learn before or that I don’t get confused with so many languages

Since I have always been curious about different cultures I set myself the goal of becoming fluent in English. So why not combine both interests right?! Hi, my name is Joel Bean- I am an English/German (and on occasion Spanish) teacher and former musician from the USA, currently living in Warsaw. I am extremely passionate about languages/culture and how it can help us to develop a much wider understanding of every aspect of life and help to build meaningful relationships with other people. With this in mind, my goal is to be able to take in the culture, language, and perspective of others with an open and curious mind, and to also be able to teach and share my own culture, language, and experience through history, music, philosophy, and other disciplines. I want to be able to foster a sense of "cultural counterpoint"; that is, the ability to see the same basic object via several lenses at once, something which can be a direct outcome of the language learning process. If this sounds good to anybody, and you would like to become a friend, please don't hesitate to reach out- I would especially be happy to meet anybody in person! I really love Steve Kaufmann and his respective methods in particular, and I would love to find others who share a similar enthusiasm for languages and in particular enjoy the process of learning. There are also several other polyglots/language enthusiasts whom I enjoy and I will be happy to name as well :) My German is at a C2 level, my Spanish is just right below, my Portuguese somewhere just under that, and my Ukrainian and Polish are somewhere in the middle (chcę zdać egzamin języka polskiego na poziomie B2 w ciągu najbliższych trzech lat) Met het Nederlands ben ik nog en beginner, maar ik find deze taal eekt leuk (i gemakkelijk) ook ik will een dag uit Polen naar Nederland verhuizen :) I would, in any case, like to refine all of the aforementioned languages to an extremely high level (with the goal of at some point being able to pass an advanced exam for all of those ) Cheers!
