Hi, I'm Ginger, you can call me Gingi if you'd like. I studied French in school for 7 years and spent a summer semester in Paris to learn French language, culture, and history. I also speak Spanish and started learning Mandarin. I would like a language partner to practice French with please. I'm a native speaker of American English and I have a TEFL. I enjoy having fun during language exchange sessions and we will learn a lot together. In my spare time, I like to roller skate, mountain bike, hike, garden, read non-fiction books, knit, make music, and walk with my 2 Boston Terriers. We can use Skype or Google Meets. I am a retired professional translator for German, French, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Japanese and Russian into English. All my languages, except English, are self-taught. I lived 8 years in Latin America and 13 years in Japan. I practice all my languages except Italian via the Internet every week. My wife is Japanese. My Mandarin Chinese level is intermediate. I can read Chinese, and speak it conversationally, but I need considerable improvement with the Chinese tones. I use dialogs and short essays created by me and my language partners for practice. It is a very effective method. Together we can arrange a mutually convenient time, preferaby twice a week for 1 1/2 hours for each session. I am a serious and experienced language learner, but I also like to have fun doing it. I'm looking for a long-term language exchange with the same person.
