I will be living in Tokyo from late April until late July 2024. I would be interested in doing a language exchange but my Japanese is beginner-level. My preferred method is to just enjoy the occasional day hiking (Saturday or Sunday) and chatting along the way or meeting for a beer or coffee. My expectations for learning Japanese are limited to the basics but I can help you improve your English. I am a retired engineer but I started teaching English as a hobby. I have taught in Canada, Spain, and Japan.

I live in Tokyo with a small dog. My hobbies are cooking, reading books and watching movies. I also like hiking and climbing mountains. I like to travel abroad, so I'm studying to speak English with the locals. I can speak English, but not very fluently. So, I need someone to practice speaking English together. Since I grew up near Tokyo, I speak standard Japanese. I'm good at using honorifics, so I think I can help those who use Japanese in business. I also like manga, so I might be able to talk to someone who likes it.
