Hi, I just moved to New Zealand. I’d like to improve my spoken English. The English I learned at school wasn’t very conversational, so I still feel a bit awkward speaking in real life. I also started learning Spanish six months ago, and it would be great to have someone to help me learn more Spanish too. :)

Hi, I’m Cara 😊 I’m studying at Victoria University in Wellington and I’ve been here for about six months. I’m from Hebei, China, where people are known for speaking very clear, standard Mandarin. I’m keen to improve my English and learn te reo Māori. If you’re a native English speaker in Wellington, or Māori, I’d love to do a language exchange. I can teach Mandarin from beginner to intermediate level. I’m really into psychology, education, and culture, and I’m trying to get myself into the habit of reading more in English to level up my English. Flick me a message if you’re keen

I would love to help someone with their English, whether it be conversational, academic or professional. I am also beginning my te reo Māori journey and would love a language learning buddy :)

Hey peeps. I used to live in the States and in Korea during my school years. And because of it I'm a decent speaker in English and Korean. But I would love to learn Japanese cause I'd like to work and live there for a couple of years in the future. Hit me up if you're interested in learning either languages and in return it'd be nice to learn some Japanese from you as well. Cheers

Hey, I’m originally from England but I’ve lived in New Zealand for almost 10 years now. I’ve recently started learning Japanese, but I’d really like to be able to practise with someone to help build my confidence and improve my understanding of the spoken language (that’s the part I’m finding hardest). I’m still a near-beginner, learning hiragana at the moment along with some words, phrases, and short sentences. I’d also love to share my language and help others learn English. I like to keep fit, run a little, play golf, and I love movies, coffee, and food.

I enjoy learning French - intermediate level. I do a lot of bits and pieces in the community - no proper job. Some casual driving training, especially with recent immigrants to NZ. I like art, reading, gardening, walking…

Hello! I’m Finley (27) and I’ve recently moved to Wellington for work. I’m pretty chill and in my free time I’m usually reading, watching movies, volunteering, doing sports (waka ama, soccer and gymming) or practising Mandarin. My Chinese is good enough to have a slow conversation and would be interested in speaking more.

Hi everyone! I'm looking for language exchange friends to practice English with. I'm excited to improve my speaking and listening skills. Outside of language learning, I really enjoy going to cafes and bars, and I also love hiking. If you're interested in grabbing a coffee, having a drink, or exploring some trails while we chat, I'm definitely open to it! Looking forward to connecting!

Hello everyone, I'm French and arrived in New Zealand at the beginning of April for a one-year stay. And I'm starting to realise that ordering coffee and cheese scones isn't quite enough to improve my English 🙃 I still feel a bit blocked when it comes to speaking and understanding conversations fully. It's frustrating not being able to connect naturally. I'm a freelance art director and illustrator, passionate about contemporary art, graphic design, and analogue photography. I also have a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and handmade work. I'd be happy to meet up — for a walk, a gallery visit, or just a chat over a good coffee!

Hello I am a New Zealander who loves visiting Japan, but funding as I get further away from the main tourist areas I'm struggling with the language barriers. As I want to improve my Japanese, I would love to have an exchange with a Japanese speaker. I have three teenage children and they take up a large part of my spare time. I like cooking, listening to podcasts and taking walks in the local forests. Most of all, I enjoy travelling.

Hello. My name is Leslie. I am a beginner level student, looking for someone to help me speak better Japanese. I can read simple Hiragana. I am looking for a Nihonjin language partner, who does not mind that I am an old gentleman, and I would be happy to help them learn English. I am a single parent, whose daughter has lived in Tokyo for the last 14 years. Her partner can speak English, but his parents in Chiba cannot, and I want to be able to talk with them.
