I have always wondered: do we need a reason to talk?

It is a question that seems very naive, yet deserves someone to ask. Isn't it remarkable enough that we are the only living beings on this planet capable of articulating a complex accumulative language that transcends age and place? It seems we've forgotten how incredibly unbelievable that process is! Our deep thoughts, feelings, and understanding can magically drift from one person to another, who eventually comprehends and appreciates what is happening inside our minds. With just a well-arranged set of sounds, tones, letters, symbols, or even gestures, we can create words that have the potential to connect one person in a distant time and space to a modern one on a very profound conceptual and emotional level. We are literally engraving ideas inside each other's brains without carving tools. Just imagine how much time, anesthesia, and insurance we save each time we casually communicate —without paying for an MRI, electrochemical probes, or a skilled neurosurgeon. :"O

You are probably reading this on a screen designed to facilitate human communication further. However, it usually doesn't achieve that as nicely as we hope, leading us to believe that we must have a reason to speak and continue speaking. Reasons, sometimes, are very tricky tools we overuse to disguise our fears or reluctance. Sometimes, we worry about judgment, negative emotions, unpleasant reactions, or simply hesitate to take a step and experience what lies beyond our conventional zone. Well, in my defense, my ancestors lost their cutting teeth millions of years ago, so, regrettably, I can't bite. :"(
Similarly, my highly sensitive conscience knows how to deprive me of quality sleep when something goes out of place —which is not cool for someone who used to appreciate complex characters like The Joker and Loki. :"|

**On a side note, I understand that effective communication often requires a clear purpose to create more meaningful and productive discussions. I also recognize that many people may feel uncomfortable sharing their thoughts or feelings without a defined reason. It's okay to feel this way; arguably, it's a valid concern. However, just as modern transportation doesn't take away the triviality of walking long distances from time to time, engaging in purposeful conversations shouldn't take away the joy and spontaneity of free expression. A balance between a structured dialogue and a free one can seriously enrich our interpersonal and social lives.**

Anyway, if you're still with me after this intentionally long-winded introduction, I think we have a pretty good reason to talk—assuming you don't bite, of course! :"D
So, if you're intrigued by the idea that humans don't need a reason to express, describe, share ideas, or just let go of their captive thoughts —no matter how trivial, routine, or arbitrary—then you're more than welcome to reach me. Just remember, spontaneous conversations can be just as valuable as purposeful ones. They can bring joy, connection, and understanding. You also have my promise that I will listen and appreciate what you have in mind.

Sincerely,
ZaD
