I’m from Osaka, Japan. I live in Philadelphia, United States as an au pair since December 3rd 2020. I speak Japanese native, English intermediate, Korean beginner, and I also want to learn Chinese and Spanish because my host grandparents have origin from China and my au pair friends who are from Mexico and Colombia speak Spanish. I’m interested in learning languages through the culture and food exchange. I like playing badminton, football (soccer),traditional Japanese card game called Hyakuninisshu ,eating, and traveling . I like red wine, plum wine, and Japanese sake.

Hi! My name is David, and I am a student at Columbia University. I am majoring in Middle Eastern studies and minoring in Computer Science. I love studying language and connecting with people, so I hope this program helps with both of those goals! I am currently prepping my Arabic for travel to Morocco. I have two years of formal Arabic classes with very little speaking practice, unfortunately. As for hobbies, I am a musician (violin, guitar, piano) and mechanic (working on a BMW E34).
