I am a visiting researcher in Edinburgh, and I would like to improve my English. I have noticed that people here in Edinburgh speak various forms of English, so I want to better understand them and make myself understood. Additionally, I have studied Spanish and Chinese by listening to Japanese educational radio programs for a few years, but I have rarely used them. As a result, my level is beginner, and I would like to practice speaking both Spanish and Chinese.

Ich war einmal in Wien, als ich noch 17 Jahre alt war, und bin fuer ein Jahr aufs Gymnasium gegangen. Mit meiner Gastfamilie in Wien habe ich noch manchmal Kontakt, aber ich denke, es waere schoener, wenn ich besser Deutsch sprechen koennte, deshalb moechte ich noch einmal Deutsch lernen.
